About Everyday Cost Lab
Why this site exists, what it covers, and how its tools should be used.
Everyday Cost Lab helps U.S. readers turn broad cost-of-living statistics into a household-specific research plan.
What we publish
We publish browser-based calculators, city cost guides, and practical articles about rent, household budgets, transportation, food, pets, emergency savings, and moving. The focus is education and decision support.
What makes the site different
Every calculator exposes its inputs and methodology. Government data is linked to its original source. Model-based illustrations are labeled so they are not confused with quotes, official eligibility decisions, or individualized advice.
Editorial responsibility
The launch version is published by the Everyday Cost Lab editorial team. Before presenting individual authors as financial experts, add verified biographies and credentials. See the editorial policy and corrections policy.
